Agata
Agata Photo Introduced to the water at young age and moving quickly to competing at national level for her native Poland aged fifteen, Agata’s love for swimming has gone from strength to strength. Since gaining her ASA qualifications Agata has gained a wide variety of teaching experience including supporting swimmers with special needs, coaching at several high profile London swimming clubs and delivering lessons for Swimming Nature. It is no surprise that Agata considers the poolside to be virtually a second home! Agata did manage to squeeze in obtaining a degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Arts in London, but luckily for us she chose to return to her swimming roots. She now applies her wealth of experience and expertise to provide fun and constructive lessons that encourage others to enjoy the water as much as she still does!
Calvin
Calvin Photo Calvin is a fully qualified Level 2 swimming teacher. He started swimming lessons at the age of five and progressed with a club and starting age-group competitions at County level from the age of 11 years old. Calvin has bags of enthusiasm for swimming and teaching and have over 10 years’ experience in various organisations. We are really pleased he has joined the Swimming Nature team and will benefit our pupils with his enormous experience. He ranks one of his highest sporting achievements to being Southern Counties Champion and also being ranked 6th at 100m breast-stroke in National age groups. Calvin leads a fit and healthy life-style enjoys cycling, climbing and various forms of resistance training too! As a National standard competitive swimmer, Calvin has always been passionate about the sport and has been involved with Club level swimming for many years. This led to him wanting to teach children to swim and to pass on his knowledge. Calvin likes the clear and logical progression that students make with the Swimming Nature programme and that it is keeping with the natural bio-mechanics of the body and allows for efficient translation of the fundamentals of swimming. The best bit though is that both teacher and student can have fun learning and it keeps all students motivated and engaged in learning. We tend to agree with him on that one!
David
David Photo Learning to swim at a young age, David was clearly inspired by his early experience and alongside teaching completed a degree in Sports Science. Having small class sizes and the support and encouragement of a teacher within the water alongside each student is one of the most valuable aspects of Swimming Nature lessons for David. He is able to establish a safe and welcoming environment that allows him to closely assist each student as they develop new skills and correct their technique as quickly and as often as is needed as they progress with each stroke. Likewise this enables him to deliver tailored lessons that focus on each student’s individual requirements, allowing their skills to be continually and confidently developed. David makes every lesson a fun and exciting experience for both swimmer and teacher, aiming to establish and encourage a lifelong love of swimming!
Deirdre
Deirdre Photo Swimming competitively at national level and competing in Leinster Division One and All Ireland Division Two, Deidre subsequently qualified as a swimming teacher alongside her school exams so she could work in her beloved local pool - so great is her enthusiasm for the sport! The friendly, interactive atmosphere the small classes encourage is one of Deidre’s favourite elements of the Swimming Nature lesson style, promoting greater confidence and progression and making the lessons more enjoyable and encompassing for all. Deidre is currently studying Printed Textile Design at the University of East London and enjoys using her creative talents to make the lessons as interesting and engaging as possible! All levels benefit from combining the structured lesson programme with fun, imaginative activities and Deidre is just as enthusiastic when hopping around, learning about the water with the Frogs as developing the techniques and range of strokes with the higher levels.
Deniss
Deniss Photo One of Swimming Nature’s valuable teaching team – Deniss can speak English, Latvian and Russian! His sporting career is impressive!  Not only a top swimmer - he competes in  running, fencing, shooting and horse riding and has competed in Modern Pentathlon! With one of his greatest achievements competing and receiveing a medal in the Youth Modern Pentathlon European Championships. Deniss continues to demonstrate his passion for a wide range of sport regularly playing tennis, football, volleyball and fencing. For Deniss the personal aspect of each swimming lesson is one of the most essential features and he believes that getting to know the unique personality of each child allows for greater understanding, progression and closely tailored lessons. Deniss draws his years of enjoyment and experience of sport to fuel his continued energy and passion for swimming; a passion he clearly wants to inspire in the students he teaches!
Jorge
Jorge Photo With over 25 years’ experience of swimming himself and 17 years teaching and coaching in Spain, Canada and Australia, Jorge has bags of experience and enthusiasm for teaching swimming. He started off his own swimming career and took 1st place in Regional competitions several times. His passion for the sport led to him completing a Sports Science Degree and participating in Triathlon competitions too. Jorge has completed the Swimming Nature training course and enjoys helping students to become the best swimmers they can be, by using innovative training techniques that he learnt on the training course. Jorge loves to travel and experience new countries and cultures and has a genuine love of teaching and learning himself.
Luis
Luis Photo Luis was born in Spain and speaks Italian, English and Spanish! He has been a qualified teacher for 4 years obtaining an ASA Level 1. He also has a Physical Education Swimming Degree specializing in Science and Physical Sports. What you might not know about Luis is that he thoroughly enjoys playing basketball, football and tennis. He thoroughly enjoys Swimming Nature’s small classes and the teaching style of being in the water. He enjoys teaching all groups and levels.
Maciej
Maciej Photo As one of our talented trilingual teachers Maciej speaks English, Polish and German! Maciej began swimming at a young age before moving quickly onto training with a club and subsequently competing nationally for his native Poland. Maciej trained and transitioned into teaching in order to have the opportunity to pass on his passion for swimming to the next generation of athletes and has taught in a variety of high profile swimming clubs before joining Swimming Nature. Having the opportunity in each lesson to pass on his skills and encourage the same confident and enthusiastic relationship with swimming is what makes every day exciting! Not only does Maciej enjoy introducing new swimmers to the water, he finds focusing on stamina building exercises with the higher levels so that each student has the strength to complete the technical exercises correctly and with effortless efficiency very rewarding. Maciej loves lending his wealth of swimming expertise to encourage and challenge the stroke expanding levels from Penguin upwards and is passionate about encouraging graceful and correct movements in all four strokes. Over the past eight years he has taught many thousands of children how to swim the Swimming Nature way and achieve high standards in their swimming.
Marta
Marta Photo Marta is an experienced and very popular teacher who has worked for Swimming Nature since 2008. She is fully qualified ASA Level 2 teacher and has been swimming herself for twenty years. She has a natural love and affinity for teaching children and a great interest in sport. Apart from swimming, Marta also trains in volleyball and cross-country skiing. Marta loves the child-friendly Swimming Nature scheme that includes all the water animals and the courses offered to the teachers providing support in the methodology and mechanics of strokes.
Noelia
Noelia Photo Noelia is a fully qualified STA Level 2 swimming teacher who also holds her National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and has over 11 years’ teaching experience. She loves working with children and adults and is always enthused about her teaching. She was a former water polo player in the European leagues and has won medals in competitive meets. She is passionate about teaching children to live a healthy and active lifestyle, teaching water safety and always combines her topics with fun and games. Teaching swimming is her dream job and has moved from her home in Spain to begin her career with Swimming Nature as it allows her to what she loves best – the Swimming Nature way! When asked what she likes best about the Swimming Nature methodology she said “I think that it is really important for the student to have a real guide to swimming and there is nothing better than the hands on contact with your teacher to explain the movements!” When not in the pool, Noelia likes to play the piano, guitar, practising for triathlons and having a few laughs with friends.
Sarah
Sarah Photo Sarah learned to swim at such an early age she can barely remember, however it must have been an inspiring experience because she continues to spend as much time as she can in and around the pool! Sarah considers her highest level of competitive achievement to be winning a gold medal at an international competition in the United States and loves the opportunity teaching now gives her to support the next generation of swimmers to achieve their own goals. Sarah has built upon her practical experiences and is now a qualified Level Two ASA swimming teacher and a qualified Swimming Nature Mother and Baby instructor. Sarah enjoys a wide range of teaching from introducing new swimmers to the water to stamina building exercises with the higher levels so that each student has the strength to complete the technical exercises correctly. She loves lending her wealth of swimming expertise to encourage and challenge the stroke expanding levels from Penguin upwards and finds it very rewarding to see each student swim increasing distances with smooth, transitioning tumble turns.
